#13 Tide Baseball Blanked by Southern Miss

McInnis' Gem Leads Golden Eagles

The newly ranked Alabama baseball team dropped their first road game of the year to #28 Southern Miss in Pearl, MS on Tuesday night. The Crimson Tide could only muster two hits on the evening, one apiece by Emeel Salem and Ryan Rhoden in their worst offensive night of the season.

Bernard Robert (2-1) took the loss for the Crimson Tide pitching 4.2 innings and giving up three runs on six hits. Southern Miss (11-2) was led by starting pitcher Tood McInnis' dominant performance, pitching eight innings and only surrendering one hit and recording six strikeouts.

Alabama (12-3) can avenge the loss on Wednesday night as they host the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles at 6:30pm CT at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Tide also host nationally ranked Nebraska this weekend at home.
